Salman Khan to now launch smartphones, names the line 'Being Smart'. Here are the details

Bollywood's Sultan, Salman Khan is reportedly going to venture into business and will launch smartphones called, Being Smart by the end of the year

After starting a clothing line, under the brand name of Being Human, Bollywood superstar Salman is reportedly all set to launch smartphones called, “Being Smart”. Salman Khan who has delivered mega hits including Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dabangg is now apparently looking for investors to start this ambitious project.

According to a report in Economic Times, Salman Khan intends to hold a major share directly or through the members of the family. He is also trying to rope in some of the people who have been a part of mobile phone giant groups, like Samsung and Micromax.

Initial reports suggest that Salman Khan has registered the Being Smart trademark which will reportedly target the middle-class group and is likely to cost less than Rs 20,000.

“BeingSmart will be positioned against the Chinese smartphone brigade — Oppo, VivoBSE -4.90 % and Xiaomi — at a time domestic handset makers such as Micromax and Intex are facing tremendous competition.

And, like the Being Human apparel line, proceeds from the profit will be ploughed back into charity and social work that Salman Khan does with his Being Human Foundation” a source told ET.
Additionally, just like his clothing brand, a major part of the income earned through the sale of the smartphones will be donated to his NGO, Being Human. Even though the actor has not made any official announcement as yet, the phone is likely to be launched by the end of the year. Also, the phone will be made available to the people in the regular retail stores and not only at the stores of Being Human.
