Raees Music Review: From Laila o Laila to Zaalima, there are more than one reasons to love the tracks of the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees, which releases on 25 January, boasts of an album comprising numbers which have gained immense popularity. Here's our review

As Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees is just a few days away from hitting the theatres, the wait is getting too long. The teasers of the film have created a lot of buzz before the release. Shah Rukh Khan plays a bootlegger with the name Raees who starts off as a bootlegger before becoming a don in Gujarat. However, he runs into an honest cop played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui who vows to have him jailed.

As we know, melodious and nerve-soothing music is a major ingredient of any SRK film. So, here’s the music review of the Rahul Dholakia directorial venture. The album has three major songs which have become incessantly popular within hours of their release.

Laila O Laila: Thirty-six years ago, Zeenat Aman swooned everyone with her sensuous moves as Laila in 1980 film Qurbaani. Now, it’s none other than Sunny Leone who has managed to enthrall the viewers with her exotic moves in the modified version. While the original song was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji, Ram Sampath has re-composed the number sung by Pawni Pandey. Despite modification, the song does not lose its charm and has become quite a hit among people. On YouTube, the video has garnered a whopping 7.60 crore views. Do watch the song here.

InUth opinion: The song goes to be 5 out of 5. Of course the lyrics were already good, but with Sunny shaking a leg on them makes the song happening once again. It is a revisit to 1980.

Zaalima: Shah Rukh Khan is known as the King of Romance. So, is it possible that he goes away without showing love for his sweetheart in the movie? When he is not taking on his rivals or evading the arms of the law, Raees has all the time for Asiya (Mahira Khan). He confesses his undying love with the romantic song Zaalima. Sung by Arijit Singh and Harshdeep Kaur, the composition by JAM8 will make you fall in love once again. What left me awestruck are the lyrics of this song, particularly the lines like:

Jo teri khaatir tadpe pehle se hi
Kya usse tadpana o zaalima

InUth opinion: The picturisation of this film is really beautiful as both Shah Rukh and Mahira compliment each other. The meaningful and the sense are what making us go gaga over the song. The romantic number, of course, gets 5/5. You need to watch this song ASAP.

Udi Udi Jaaye: A Bollywood film set in Gujarat without a garba song is incomplete. And Raees is no exception. The film has Shah Rukh Khan performing the traditional dance for the first time in his film career. Giving him company is his on-screen ladylove Asiya (Mahira Khan). Penned by Javed Akhtar and composed by Ram Sampath, the song has been sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Bhoomi Trivedi and Karsan Sagathia. The music is peppy and you will soon be immersed in festive fervour after listening to this.

InUth Opinion: This is one festive song which we will see at every occasion. It certainly a thumbs up. 4/5 for this goes undoubtedly.

As far as the film is concerned, the makers have not left any stone unturned to ensure that the buzz does not die out. Time and again, several dialogue promos of the film have been unveiled which have amassed huge fan following.

And do not miss this promo on what irks Raees the most.
