Shah Rukh Khan has been in the business for more than two decades now. The star will be next in Jab Harry Met Sejal opposite Anushka Sharma. This is their third movie together and their chemistry, both on and off screen, is amazing. It hence comes as a surprise that Anushka, who made her acting debut with SRK, called him out for being a bad actor. Shah Rukh himself made this revelation in an interview and said if Anushka says she admires his work, she is lying.
Talking to film journalist Rajeev Masand, Shah Rukh Khan said on meeting him Anushka said, “You can’t act!” When Rajeev reminded Shah Rukh about Anushka’s being in awe with him, the superstar said she was lying. “She lies. I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again… Right in the beginning of the shoot, she came up to me and said, you can’t act,” Shah Rukh Khan said.
“You ask her… you ask her. I was really appreciative of her because she can learn lines just like I do, she is fantastic with lines. And she was doing such a great job… And I was really in love with her, with the way she worked and I was telling Adi that she’s fantastic and we wanted to make this film really very fast. And so she was like, ‘I really like you and you’re really nice… I’ve never liked you as an actor,” Shah Rukh Khan said.
The 51-year-old actor revealed at that time he felt maybe Anushka was nervous. But even after the movie was in its final leg of shooting, Anushka’s views about the star remained unchanged. “In the last shot on the motorcycle, she hugged me from the back and she said, ‘You know I wanna say something to you.’ Toh main smajha ye picture abhi khatam hogai, now she must have realised the depth of my acting. So I turned and said, ‘What you think I am a good actor?’ So she said, ‘No, you’re really a good person.”

LOL! Anushka was definitely was not swayed by SRK’ stardom. Maybe this honesty is the reason behind Shah Rukh and Anushka’s friendship. Their movie Jab Harry Met Sejal will release on August 4 and is directed by Imtiaz Ali.
