Neil Nitin Mukesh looks exactly like Sanjay Gandhi in this pic from Madhur Bhandarkar's Indu Sarkar

Neil Nitin Mukesh has nailed the look of Sanjay Gandhi, which he is essaying in Madhur Bhandarkar's latest film Indu Sarkar

Neil Nitin Mukesh recently got married to his long-time girlfriend Rukmini Sahay. After spending time with his family, he has now resumed his shooting for Indu Sarkar, the film is said to be based on the 21-month long Emergency proclaimed in 1975-77. He will be essaying the role of Indira Gandhi’s younger son Sanjay Gandhi in the film directed by Madhur Bhandarkar

Recently, the first look of the film has been doing rounds on social media and Neil bears a striking resemblance to Sanjay. Earlier, the makers of the film had refused the claims that the story revolved around Indira Gandhi. But the photograph is enough to say that Neil plays the role of Gandhi scion in the film. Supriya Vinod plays the role of Indira Gandhi. According to Hindustan Times, Neil spent six months to research about his role and we can say that his efforts have reaped rich dividends.

The film features Kirti Kulhari in the title role, who shot to fame with her role in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink last year. She plays a poetess who stammers and rises against odds. In an interview to PTI last year, the actor had said that the role had required her to do extensive research as the protagonist suffers from a speech problem.

Kirti had told the news agency that the historical drama was based on the Emergency proclaimed by the Indira Gandhi government.”It is unconventional, set in 1975 during the emergency period. It is a film which Madhur is also very excited about. He has been researching for it since 7-8 months. There are a lot of incidents in the film from that time (emergency),” she had said.
