The trailer of Kunal Kapoor's Malayalam debut Veeram was unveiled a short while ago and it looks absolutely promising

Hrithik Roshan took to Facebook a short while ago to share the trailer of Veeram, an upcoming historical drama directed by Jayaraj, starring Kunal Kapoor. Those who have kept a tab on everything about the film would remember that the first look of Veeram had left many intrigued. And the trailer comes true to this sense as perfect.

The film that is inspired by William Shakespeare’s famous play Macbeth, features Kunal in the role of infamous warrior Chanthu Chekavar. Chanthu was believed to have lived in the 16th century in North Malabar. A look at the trailer tells that Kunal has done a tremendous job in getting into the skin of the character.

While the film is still in the post-production stage, the makers decided to release the clip. The trailer introduces Kunal’s character and informs us how he was chosen to be the lieutenant of the King’s army. Few seconds into the trailer and one realises that Chanthu is not as noble as he seems. His ulterior motives are revealed later about how he is influenced by a woman.

The storyline has elements of war, love and betrayal imbibed into it. Here is the trailer which will definitely leave you impressed:

Helmed by Jayaraj, the film has music by Jeff Roan. The composer is famous for his works like Phantom, God of Water and Traffic III. The soundtrack We Will Rise was chosen among 91 soundtracks shortlisted for the 89th Academy Awards. Veeram is being made in being made in Malayalam, Hindi, and English. It marks the Malayalam debut of Kunal Kapoor and is expected to hit the screens later this year.
