The intro-teaser of Mammootty starrer The Great Father is out. Written and directed by debutant Haneef Adeni, the film has been produced by August Cinema – a joint production of Malayalam actor Prithviraj, director Santhosh Sivan, Tamil actor Arya and producer Shaji Nadeshan. The Great Father also marks the third Malayalam outing of Arya after Urumi and Double Barrel.

The Great Father will feature Mammootty in the titular role of David Ninan Vedippara, while Arya will be seen in the role of Andrews Eapen Umbakkal – a character with shades of gray.

The film also stars Sneha, Baby Anikha of Bhaskar The Rascal fame, Shaam, Mia George, Malavika Mohanan, Manikandan Achari and IM Vijayan.

The 29-second long teaser opens with a police officer telling Mammootty that he doesn’t look like a guy who smokes. And to make the question’s answer more interesting, in the very next scene we will see Mammookka walking out of a building in slow motion while smoking a cigarette with an attitude.

The teaser ends with an explosion in the building but fails to grab any attention from Mammootty. Overall, the Malayalam actor nailed it with his screen presence and attitude in this smart intro teaser.

The Great Father was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on December last year, but postponed owing to the strike between Kerala Film Producers Association and Kerala Exhibitors Association. The movie will now hit the screens on 30 March 2017.
