It’s widely known that former Indian cricketer Sreesanth is all set to make his acting debut with upcoming Malayalam film, Team 5. Directed by Suresh Govind, the film stars popular South Indian actress Nikki Galrani as the female lead. Team 5 also stars Pearle Maaney, Makarand Deshpande and Pradeep Kottayam in supporting roles. The film also marks the acting debut of Sumesh Krishnan.
Ever since the trailer of Team 5 released, it has been a punching bag for the social media. The one-minute and fifty-second long trailer, which released in October 2016 has been criticized for Sreesanth ‘s poor and expressionless acting. The former pace bowler completely misses his line and length in his dialogue delivery as well.
To make it worse, the makers have released the song ‘Azhcha‘ recently. The song turned out to be a spoof on Sreesanth as the actor is looking clueless in his dance steps.
However, Malayalam audience is waiting for the release of Team 5 as they believe it would be a perfect challenge to the self-proclaimed social media superstar Santhosh Pandit who is their current favorite target to do ‘Pongala‘ (nonstop criticism) for making senseless films.
Santhosh Pandit, better known as the KRK of Malayalam cinema is an actor-producer-director-scriptwriter-editor-composer-lyricist-singer-choreographer-distributor-critic and is a familiar guest in most of the Malayalam reality shows just to improve the TRP ratings of the same. He became an overnight sensation on social media when he had released the song ‘Ratri Shubaratri‘ from his debut film Krishnanum Radhayum. Upon its release, Santhosh had revealed that he made Krishnanum Radhayum on an extremely low budget of Rs. 5 lakh and minted more than Rs. 25 lakh at the Box Office. The film had its targeted audience and was a commercial success. The actor went on to five more films including Superstar Santhosh Pandit, Minimolde Achchan , Kalidasan Kavithayezhuthukayanu, Tintumon Enna Koodeshwaran and Jithu Bhai Enna Chocolate Bhai. The Box Office results of these films are best known to him only.

And now, the Malayalam audience are comparing Sreesanth’s acting skills in Team 5 to Santhosh Pandit with many saying the latter deserved better when it comes to acting.
