Watch: Baby and Castle dance it off in the first trailer for Dirty Dancing musical reboot

Swayze fans, hold on to your hearts. A Dirty Dancing is being made into a musical.

The 1987 film Dirty Dancing, starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, is an ageless classic. Fans of the movie have long yearned for a remake. Now, thanks to all the very persistent (and consistent) demands, the film is finally getting a reboot as a musical. An ABC remake, the Dirty Dancing musical stars Colt Prattes as dance instructor Johnny Castle and Abigail Breslin as Frances “Baby” Houseman. The first teaser trailer of the musical is already out and it has the single most iconic Swayze line- “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”

ABC Network shared the first teaser, which plays to the tune of “(I’ve Had) the Time of My Life,” on Twitter along with the caption, “One of the most beloved movies of all time becomes the next great television event!”

In the 30-second teaser, Prattes’ Castle asks Breslin, “What’s your name?” to which she softly replies, “Baby.” The musical, that would be three hours long, will not be an exact remake. According to reports, it will also tie up a few loose ends including the future of Baby and Castle after their summer romance.

The Dirty Dancing remake stars Colt Prattes, Abigail Breslin, Sarah Hyland, Katey Sagal, Nicole Scherzinger, Debra Messing and Bruce Greenwood. The film is all set to premiere on May 24.
