Watch: Angelina Jolie eating scorpions and tarantulas with her kids will certainly make you cringe

While in Cambodia, Angelina Jolie cooked up (and ate) a bunch of bugs like crickets and scorpions during the promotion of First They Killed My Father.

After her highly publicised split from husband Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie is back into shape and focusing on her career. She was recently spotted in Cambodia while promoting a film where she did something so cringeworthy that it could be the first Jolie video you can’t watch. While in the South-East Asian country, the 41-year-old actress cooked up a certain “delicacy” which has jointed legs and exoskeletons.

In a video, where she was giving an interview with BBC, Angelina Jolie can be seen with her children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, as she cooks up the creepy crawly feast.

Angelina Jolie Eating Insects

“I think it’s always been a part of the diet (in Cambodia), the bugs, but then I think there is a truth to the survival during the war of course when people were being starved they were able to survive on things like this and they did,” Jolie said.

Jolie stated that once before when she visited Cambodia to adopt her son Maddox, she had feasted on crickets. She said that you start with crickets and then one can move on to the creepier delicacies like tarantulas. God! Like imagining the crumble of a cricket wasn’t enough that now we have wiggly tarantula legs? Ugh! I think I’ll throw up a little early today.

“It’s actually really good, the flavour,” she said while she munched on a bug. Although she very much enjoyed the taste, she found scorpions “hard to chew.” She even went on to compare insects to chips. Can you imagine yourself watching TV and eating a roach as it passes by? No! That’s not how it works, it’s not like chips!

Angelina Jolie was in Cambodia to promote her upcoming film First They Killed My Father which is based on the Khmer Rouge regime of Cambodia.
