Here's what 'Chulbul' Salman Khan had to say on the demise of his on-screen father Vinod Khanna

Vinod Khanna died on Thursday after a prolonged battle with bladder cancer. He was laid to rest later in the day, attended by several bigwigs of the industry.Actors Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek, Rishi Kapoor
and brother Randhir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Jackie Shroff, Kabir Bedi and Danny Denzongpa were among those who attended the funeral along with Gulzar, Subhash Ghai, Ramesh Taurani and Ramesh Sippy.

Salman Khan, who worked with Khanna in films like Wanted, Dabangg and Dabangg 2 expressed his sorrow on the demise of the actor. He took to Twitter to share an old photo of him with Khanna.”R.I.P Vinod Khanna Sir . You will really be missed,” he posted of him and the actor when both of them were shooting for Dabangg 2.

In his 45-year-long film career, Khanna acted in films like Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Parvarish, Apne, Amar Akbar Anthony, Dayavan, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar and others. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1997 and was a four-time MP from Gurdaspur in Punjab. He also served as minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government.

Khanna last appeared in Ek Rani Thi Aisi Bhi opposite Hema Malini. Prior to this, he played Shah Rukh Khan’s father in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale in 2015. Khanna was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on April 2 this year after complaining of dehydration. Although pictures of him continued to do rounds on social media, his family and the hospital had denied any such reports.
