We all know that Mouni Roy is making her big Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s Gold. But you will be surprised to know that it was Salman Khan who somehow helped the actress to bag the film. Earlier, it was also reported that she would be making her debut opposite Salman Khan, but the final announcement of the film by Reema Kagti put all the rumours at rest. Now in a recent development, while talking to a leading daily, a source revealed how Dabangg Khan convinced someone from the film’s unit and got her an audition.
“Salman made Daisy the lead actress in Jai Ho and has launched the singing career of Iulia Vantur. He has seen Mouni’s work and felt she deserved a big Bollywood break. It is he who spoke to someone from the unit of Gold and got her an audition. Of course, Mouni did well, subsequently bagging the part,” a source revealed.
Recently, Mouni Roy started shooting for the film in London. Several pictures of the actress along with Akshay Kumar went viral on social media. In the picture, she can be seen draped in a black and red printed saree, while Akshay can be seen donning a kurta and dhoti. Check out the image here:

This is the first time Mouni will share the screen space with Akshay Kumar. Featuring him in the main lead, Gold is biographical sports drama about the rise and fall of Balbir Singh, a Hockey player from India. Akshay will play the role of Balbir Singh in the upcoming film.
