All hell broke loose when the pictures of Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan smoking in New York surfaced on the internet. The Pakistani actress was slut-shamed for smoking and wearing a short dress. Haters posted cringe-worthy tweets and didn’t leave any stones unturned to pull her down. They said Mahira bought a bad name to her country, religion, and womanhood. However, her mates from both Indian and Pakistani film industry stood by Mahira’s side. Actors like Ali Zafar, Parineeti Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor came out in support of the Raees star.

Sharing her mind on the viral pictures of Mahira and Ranbir, actress Zareen Khan has lent her support to the Pakistani actress and told haters to mind their own business.

While talking to a leading daily Zareen said:

“Oh! She is a girl, she is wearing a short dress and she is a Muslim, she is from Pakistan… I know all these things. But I think people should understand that everybody is an individual and rather than judging other people, you should take care of yours. If you like something, watch it. If you don’t, then don’t watch it. Everybody has an opinion, everyone behaves as if they are out to take over the world and correct the world, they give out these statements thinking this is how they are contributing to correcting the world by catching hold of a particular human being and trying to make them feel bad.”

“That’s not how to take care of the world. First, take care of your life, correct yourself. There must be a lot of things going wrong in your life. So, I don’t think anyone should judge or point fingers at anybody else till they, themselves, are not perfect,” Zareen further added.

Well, this is not the first time that both, Ranbir and Mahira have grabbed the limelight. Earlier, they made the headlines for a video at the Global Teacher Prize event which also went viral.
