Watch: Trailer of Richa Chadha's production Khoon Aali Chithi goes from funny to haunting in few seconds

Actress Richa Chadha has donned the hat of a producer for the Punjabi short film titled Khoon Aali Chithi

The trailer of a short Punjabi movie was released recently and it will intrigue you. Produced by Richa Chadha and directed by  Rupinder Inderjit, the movie is titled Khoon Aali Chithi and by the look of the trailer, it looks quite interesting.  The movie will be releasing on 25 April. It also marks the debut of Richa as a producer.

Digital platform titled Royal Stag Barrel Large Short Films is all set to release the film. Khoon Aali Chithi talks about an innocent love story of a young boy who’s motive to write a letter in blood to his love is taken away in tragic circumstances set in the 1980s Punjab.

Khoon Aali Chithi’s trailer starts on a quirky note but takes a haunting turn soon. A look at the trailer and it confirms that it will tell the story that is hidden from many. Set against the backdrop of 1980’s and 1990’s, the movie will also tell the impact of Khalistan movement in Punjab on the lives of common people.

“The film is about the human casualty of conflict and basically about people who have nothing at all to do with violence or politics, people who don’t even watch the news maybe who don’t know why they are suffering,” Richa said in a statement.

The short, which is directed by Richa’s friend Rupinder Inderjit, premiered at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in 2016. The digital platform has previously released short films including Sujoy Ghosh’s Ahalya, Jaydeep Sarkar’s Nayantaras Necklace, Neeraj Pandey’s Ouch, Jyothi Kapur Das’s Chutney, Vikram Bhatt’s Let’s Play and many more.

Khoon Aali Chithi has background score composed by Richa’s brother Pranav. Speaking about this, Richa had said, “Everyone thinks I am talented. That’s because they haven’t met my brother yet. He plays the piano, flute and the guitar a bit and he sings. This is my debut production and I wanted an authentic sound, hence I requested him to do the background music for it. Hope people like what they hear.”
