The trailer of Mantra starring Kalki Koechlin and Rajat Kapoor released a short while ago and it looks intriguing. Helmed by Nicholas Kharkongor, the movie also stars Shiv Pandit and Lushin Dubey. The movie is based on how globalisation swept India post the liberalisation. It shows the struggle of a man who tried to save his iconic brand of snacks from being taken over by a multinational company.

From the look of the trailer, the actors have definitely done a brilliant job in shedding light on the topic. There is no shred of doubt that Rajat Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin are two of the most brilliant actors. And Mantra is a proof of the same. The way they have pulled out their roles in the films, evident from the trailer, confirms they will be hailed for it in the future.

Filming Mantra was not an easy task for the crew. The film was made on a shoestring budget and it was not a cake walk. Reportedly, the director got panic attacks just three days before the filming started.

A source close to the sets had revealed earlier:

The director found himself woozy all through the day, with frequent fits of hysterical laughter. Everyone realized there was no way he could be on medication and shoot. Adil Hussain and Kalki Koechlin, who were the actors for the first day of shoot, also thought that the medication might get in the way of the director being able to get the best out of them, especially because it was a very intimate scene, and the two actors had not had a chance to rehearse together at all.

Well, with so much of effort out in, definitely Mantra would treat cine buffs. The film is slated for a release on 17 March.
