Watch Behen Hogi Teri trailer: Rajkummar Rao's attempts to save himself from being bro-zoned is too funny

Rajkummar Rao will be seen in a comic avatar opposite Shruti Hassan in his upcoming film Behen Hogi Teri

Rajkummar Rao is one of the most versatile actors Bollywood has in present times. If he won accolades with his performance in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Trapped this year, the National Award winning actor bowled us over with his unrecognisable avatar in Raabta.

Now, Rajkummar has shifted his gears and will be seen doing comedy in his upcoming film Behen Hogi Teri. As the title suggests, the film chronicles the lives in a mohalla (colony) in Lucknow. The actor is paired opposite Shruti Hassan who plays a girl named Binny Arora, whom Gattu (Rajkummar) describes his nicker ke zamane ki mohabbat (childhood love interest). As the trailer suggests, it is Gattu’s struggles to woo his ladylove who is very much unlike him.

The trailer has several funny moments and it will be interesting to see Rajkummar in a completely new avatar. It begins with Gattu saying that all Indians are like my brothers and sisters. However, he is not amused with this saying and does not shy away from addressing it as the root cause of his problems. A key highlight of the film is the reprised version of the song ‘Jaanu Meri Jaan’ from Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor starrer Shaan.

Besides him, the film also stars Gautam Gulati, Ranjeet, Darshan Jariwala, Gulshan Grover and Ninad Kamat. Directed by Ajay Pannalal, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 2 this year. Rajkummar will be next seen in Newton wherein he essays the role of an election official in Maoist-infested area. He will also share screen space with Ayushmann Khurana and Kriti Sanon in Bareilly Ki Barfi.
