Vidya Balan's first look poster of Begum Jaan is intimidating and powerful beyond words

The first look poster of Vidya Balan's Begum Jaan is out. The actress will essay the role of a madam of a brothel

After the successful stint of Kahaani 2, Vidya Balan is coming back with another fantastic thriller Begum Jaan. While the first poster only showcased Gauhar Khan, this time Vidya Balan character looks strong and edgy in the new poster look of the film. The fans of Vidya Balan are already excited to see Vidya in a new avatar and the first look poster adds to the mystery and excitement of the audience.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media account to share the first look poster of  Vidya Balan’s upcoming film Begum Jaan. The movie is directed by Srijit Mukherji. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on 14 April, 2017. Going by the poster, Vidya Balan looks fierce and rebellious. There is a gun kept on her side. The tagline of the film is also interesting. It reads, “When freedom fought independence.”This is not the first time that she will be portraying such a strong role but the gaze of the actress has piqued our interest to the core. It is being said that she will essay the role of a caretaker/madam of a brothel.

Holding a hookah in his hand and staring right into the camera, Vidya surely has an intimidating character. She seems courageous and bold. The poster has already piqued the interest of her fans. In one of the earlier posters, Vidya was seen lying on a cot, smoking hookah and on her side is popular actress Gauhar Khan. The story of the movie dwells on the plight of sex workers in a displaced brothel during the partition.

Apart from Gauhar Khan, the movie also stars Ashish Vidyarthi and Naseeruddin Shah in main roles as well. The actress seems to be quite excited about her role in the film. Earlier, she stated that she feels delighted to be a part of women-centric movies. As far as the censor board is concerned, the film has already received A certificate. Interestingly, makers have been asked to mute and replace some cuss words in the film.
