Rana Daggubati starrer The Ghazi Attack is going steady at the box office within six days of its theatrical release. Here's how much the 1971 war flick earned so far

Rana Daggubati starrer The Ghazi Attack is going steady at the box office since its theatrical release. The 1971 war flick remains unfazed by Jolly LLB 2 which has made it to the Rs 100 crore club. By the sixth day, the film has netted around Rs 22.55 crore. On Tuesday, the film had earned Rs 3.15 crore. The film has been performing decently well overseas, having garnered Rs 3.32 crore.

The film revolves around the mysterious sinking of Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi off Visakhapatnam coast. It is partially based on the book ‘Blue Fishes’ authored by Sankalp, the director of the film. Kay Kay Menon plays a hot-headed commander on  board Indian Navy submarine S-21, which has been entrusted with the task of combating PNS Ghazi. Besides him and Rana Daggubati, the war-at-sea flick also features Taapsee Pannu, Atul Kulkarni and late Om Puri.

The film, distributed by Karan Johar-owned Dharma Productions, was shot underwater in a submarine set. It was a gruelling shooting schedule, as claimed by the actors. Rana Daggubati said he missed being exposed to sunlight throughout the filming of The Ghazi Attack.

The film had faced competition from Arshad Warsi-starrer Irada and Amit Sadh-Taapsee Pannu starrer Runningshaadi.com. But it is clear that The Ghazi Attack has emerged victorious in the three-cornered contest.

On Friday, Kangana Ranaut-Shahid Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan starrer Rangoon is also scheduled to hit the theatres. With Jolly LLB 2 continuing to mint money, it will be interesting to see how this war film sustains itself among new competitors.
