Sridevi is gearing up for her upcoming release Mom, while her daughter Jhanvi Kapoor is also set to make her Bollywood debut. It has been reported Jhanvi will be making her debut with Sairat opposite Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khattar. But her mom Sridevi does not seem too excited with this.
According to the reports by a leading daily, the English Vinglish actress says that she’ll be happier seeing Jhanvi getting married. As quoted by the daily, at an event, when asked about her daughter’s Bollywood debut, Sridevi said: “Jhanvi wanted to do SOTY 2 and initially, I wasn’t in favour. I don’t think it’s a bad industry. I am a creation of this world. But as a parent, it would give me greater joy to see her married. But her happiness matters more, and if she does well as an actress, I will be a proud mother.”
She also cleared the air about promoting her daughters- Jhanvi and Khushi. The report quoted her saying, “Earlier I would take Jhanvi and Khushi to social gatherings that I attended. But everybody thought I was promoting Jhanvi. Walking with my girls made me feel like a proud mother. But to the world, it became a reason to misunderstand me.”

Sridevi is returning to the silver screen with Mom after a break of 5 years. Her last movie was English Vinglish. Helmed by Ravi Udyawar, Mom is produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. The film is slated to release on July 7.
