Ranveer Singh takes a stand on Padmavati and all freedom loving Indians must read it

Ranveer Singh has spoken up on the entire controversy surrounding his upcoming film Padmavati

Ranveer Singh is gearing up for his upcoming release Padmavati. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial has been in news for wrong reasons since the very beginning. With the filmmaker being manhandled in Jaipur by members of Karni Sena has worsened the situation.

The attack was carried out by the activists of the fringe group, who believed that Bhansali was filming a dream sequence between Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer) and Rani Padmini (Deepika Padukone). The venue of the shoot was shifted to Maharashtra wherein the sets were allegedly set on fire.

Amid the controversies surrounding the magnum opus, Ranveer has spoken on the entire issue. In an interview to a leading daily, the actor said,”I have already expressed my views via Twitter. Right now, I don’t want to focus on the negative aspects. The incident had things which made us go for a toss but now we are really strong and happy.”

Padmavati marks Ranveer’s third collaboration with Bhansali and Deepika after Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Both the films were runaway successes. It also features Shahid Kapoor who essays the role of Rajput king Rawal Ratan Singh. He recently returned to shooting for the film after holidaying in Amritsar with wife Mira and daughter Misha. Shahid has been taking lessons on sword-fighting and horse-riding from his personal trainer.

Padmavati is a dramatised account of the 1303 siege of Chittor Fort by Delhi ruler Alauddin Khilji.
