Rangoon Box Office collection Day 2: It's a shaky start for Kangana Ranaut-Shahid Kapoor's film

Made on a budget of around Rs 80 crore, Rangoon released in 1800 screens all across the country and received mixed response by the audience

Vishal Bhardwaj’s much-awaited period drama Rangoon hit the screens on Friday and the film received an average response, which was a bit disappointing. Just before its release, the film was highly praised by the film fraternity and the celebs even termed it as one of the best films of Bollywood. But the box office report says a completely different story.

Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan, Rangoon is a love triangle set in the pre-independence era. The movie received mixed reviews and the opening day occupancy was somewhere around 10-12% till afternoon.

Made on a budget of around Rs 80 crore, the film released in 1800 screens all across the country. In week 1 of its release, Rangoon did a business of Rs 6.07 crore on Friday and as per the early reports, the film collected Rs 7.5 crore on Saturday.

The opening day collection of Rangoon is almost half of Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2, which earned Rs 13.20 on its release day. Though Shahid and Kangan’s performance is gaining appreciation by one and all, it seems like even they are unable to save the film at the box office.
