Rishi Kapoor’s powerful tweet slamming young stars for not turning up at the funeral of veteran actor Vinod Khanna, did not have any impact, it seems. Most of the younger stars were missing from the prayer meet of Vinod Khanna that was held yesterday. The stars who attended the ceremony included Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Rampal among others. The few younger stars that were seen included Farhan Akhtar along with Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
The Kapoor & Sons actor had tweeted about younger stars having no regards for industry stalwarts. He had said that the younger lot was more interested in attending parties rather than showing up at an event that mattered.
Vinod Khanna’s prayer meet was held at Nehru Centre in Worli. Among the first ones to reach the venue were Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao, Amitabh Bachchan along with Abhishek and Aishwarya, Hrithik Roshan and Arbaaz Khan.
Veterans like Javed Akhtar, Prem Chopra, Jeetendra, Shakti Kapoor and Abbas-Mustan were seen offering prayers and condolence at the prayer meet.Khanna’s Jurm co-star Sangeeta Bijlani was also seen with Pooja Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt.
