Noor Box Office collection day 2: Sonakshi Sinha's film remains on the lower side, earns Rs 3 crore so far

Sonakshi Sinha's Noor saw a weak opening at the box office and is struggling really hard to make its place to the top. Here are the details

Sonakshi Sinha’s latest release Noor has received mixed reviews not only from the audience but the film critics as well. While the unique and fresh storyline of the film attracted many towards the theaters, the film fails to connect with people.

Sonakshi Sinha, who plays a journalist in the film doesn’t look convincing enough and the actress was also trolled for her failed journalism act. The film saw a weak opening at the box office and is struggling really hard to make its place to the top.

In just two days of its release, Noor has done a business of Rs 1.54 crore on Friday and Rs 1.89 crore on Saturday, minting a total of Rs 3.43 crore so far. The Sonakshi Sinha starrer also landed itself in trouble with the Censor Board after the makers were asked to not use the name of senior journalist Barkha Dutt in the film.

Directed by Sunhil Sippy, Noor is based on Saba Imtiaz’s novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me!“. The film also stars Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar and Purab Kohli in prominent roles. On the work front, Sonakshi has also been roped in for Abhay Chopra’s remake of the 1969 murder mystery Ittefaq opposite Sidharth Malhotra.

Keeping all this aside, the cinematography by Keiko Nakahara is brilliant and captures Mumbai city and Noor’s turmoil with equal candour. The film boasts of excellent production quality and aesthetically, there is a method in Noor’s madness, both at home and at work. Though the film is not able to create magic at the box office, the songs are already a chartbuster and mesh seamlessly in the narrative without appearing forced.
