Nawazuddin Siddiqui reviews Baahubali 2 and explains why good acting is irrelevant in such a movie [Watch video]

Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a recent interview said his children took him to watch SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 and here is what he said about Prabhas

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the celebrated actor of Bollywood, watched the biggest blockbuster of India Baahubali 2 and made few observations. Nawazuddin was apparently awed by the treatment that the hero- Prabhas, got in the movie. In an interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that he might never get that kind of treatment for his movies, no matter how well he acted. The Raees actor also said that when a movie is made on such a grand scale as Baahubali: The Conclusion, then not delivering an amazing acting performance too gets unnoticed.

The star, whose upcoming movie Manto has created quite the buzz, made some starking references between the kind of movies he does and a magnum opus like Baahubali. Nawazuddin said, “Itni mehnat karne ke baad bhi… hala ki.. ek toh bohot badi film hai, lekin kitni bhi takat laga do acting mein yaha pe, lekin film agar nahin chalti toh wo acting sari kharab ho jati hai. Aur badi film mein agar thoda kam bhi acting karlo lekin badi hit ho jati hai.. wo film ka actor bhi acha lagne lagta hai.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was probably referring to the grandeur of Baahubali: The Conclusion. SS Rajamouli left no stone unturned in making the movie opulent. He kept in mind each minute detail while filming. Coming back to Nawazudddin’s observations of the movie, it is true that Prabhas got a heroic treatment. Almost every entry of Prabhas, was his first and carried the aura of a typical Bollywood hero. His demeanour, action, way of speaking and everything else made Prabhas a superhero. Not only this, the way he single-handedly defeated an entire army added to his heroism.

While Prabhas now sits on a throne that has a huge fan following, the kind of exploration he got, Nawazuddin Siddiqui would rarely get. Most of the movies that Siddiqui does are subtle. In his upcoming movie, Nawazuddin plays the role of Sadat Hasan Manto, an Indo-Pakistani writer. If one looks at the kind of roles Nawazuddin Siddiqui has done, it won’t be difficult to understand what he is saying.
