Kaabil director Sanjay Gupta calls Shah Rukh Khan-Akshay Kumar clash 'karma'; gets trolled incessantly

Sanjay Gupta's tweet about Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming clash with Akshay Kumar landed him in deep trouble. He later deleted the tweet

Sanjay Gupta, the director of Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil took a dig at Shah Rukh Khan only to be trolled by the superstar’s fans on Twitter. Sanjay took to Twitter last night to say that the Box Office clash between Shah Rukh Khan’s yet untitled project and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was karma. Sanjay’s tweet was obviously a response to the big Box Office clash this January of Raees and Kaabil.

The directors’ tweet targeting Shah Rukh Khan and calling the upcoming clash a thing of Karma did not go down well with King Khan’s fans. They called him names and said he had no right to speak ill about SRK. Till now, Shah Rukh Khan or anyone from his team has not said anything on this matter.

Kaabil and Raees released on 25 January and the collections of the former were obviously affected by it.  While Raees, made it to the Rs 100 crore club soon, Kaabil entered it after many days. This clash was talked about a lot and it was reported that the team from Kaabil tried averting the clash a lot. Even Rakesh Roshan, the film’s producer asked SRK to shift the release, but both of them remained adamant.

The clash got uglier when on the day of release, Kaabil’s team alleged that Raees tried to unlawfully steal screens from them. Rakesh Roshan said that the screens were supposed to be divided equally between the films, but on the D-Day, distributors gave the larger screen count to Raees.

Now, Sanjay Gupta’s mean comment at Shah Rukh Khan hints that he has held this against the actor. However, after incessant trolling, Sanjay Gupta deleted the tweet.

Shah Rukh Khan’s film in which he romances Anushka Sharma and is directed by Imtiaz Ali will hit theatres on 11 August. Now, only time will decide which superstars’ movie earns more money at the Box Office.
