After his ‘not so Swami’ type role in Main Tera Hero, Varun Dhawan is gearing up for his next — Judwaa 2. A remake of Salman Khan’s 1997 blockbuster hit film Judwaa, the film will see him playing the double role for the first time. The latest news about the film has it that actresses Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez have joined the film’s team. The two actresses will be stepping into the shoes of the roles played by Karishma Kapoor and Rambha in the original Judwaa. Earlier, it was being said that Alia Bhattwas approached to play one of the leading ladies in the film, but Varun Dhawan’s tweet cleared it all. He wrote:
The pairing of Taapsee and Varun definitely seems unique and the duo will be seen sharing the screen space together for the first time. While on the other hand, Jacqueline and Varun were last seen together in Dishoom. However, Jacky was cast opposite John Abrahamin the Sajid Nadiadwala film.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and directer David Dhawan hav teamed up together after 12 years for Judwaa 2. The duo last came together for Mujhse Shaadi Karogi in the year 2004, which featured Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the lead.
The movie is slated to hit the silver screen on September 29, 2017.
