Zaira Wasim, had a narrow escape when the car she was travelling in fell into the Dal lake. Zaira was travelling along with her friend Arif Ahmad along the Dal Lake Boulevard when their car skid and fell, reported local media. The timely intervention of the locals helped in the rescue process. Though Zaira was not hurt after the accident, her friend Arif suffered injuries. Zaira Wasim shot to stardom after she played the role of Aamir Khan’s daughter in Dangal.

Locals were quoted by a daily that the car in which she was travelling was in high speed and apparently the driver lost control. The car is said to belong to a politician who was not in the city at the time of the accident.

Zaira Wasim has yet not spoken anything on the matter. The 16-year-old actress received the National Award for her performance in Dangal.

Earlier this year, Zaira was engulfed in a controversy after she posted a picture with Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti. At a time when the state was suffering from unrest, Zaira’s meeting did not go down well with many. The young girl was trolled on social media and she apparently got threats on social media. Post the ruckus, Zaira had issued a statement:

I’m a just a 16-year-old girl and I hope you treat me accordingly. I’m sorry for what I did but it was not a deliberate decision and I really hope people can forgive me.

Post Zaira was trolled many Bollywood celebs including her on-screen father Aamir Khan had come out in her support. Aamir had written on social media that Zaira was a brave girl and she should not fear anyone. He had also requested everyone to consider her age and think of her as a kid trying to deal with life.
