Badrinath Ki Dulhania Box Office collection Day 10: Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt's film collects Rs 91 crore, becomes first super hit of 2017

Badrinath Ki Dulhania is strongly inching towards Rs 100 crore mark and will soon surpass the lifetime collections of HSKD as well

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s latest release Badrinath Ki Dulhania has turned out to be the first superhit film of 2017. The film is moving ahead strongly at the box office, even in week 2 of its release and is way ahead of all the other new releases of this month.

In week two of its release, the film has done a business of Rs 4.21 crore on Friday and Rs 5.90 crore on Saturday, minting a total of Rs 91.22 crore so far. With such amazing collections, the movie has also made its place in the top 10 romantic entertainers list.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, this film is the second installment of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, which also starred Alia and Varun in the lead role. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is a rom-com and doesn’t take the story of the first flick forward.

In fact, Badrinath Ki Dulhania has also crossed the lifetime collections of Alia Bhatt’s 2016 releases Dear Zindagi and Udta Punjab. The film is strongly inching towards Rs 100 crore mark and will soon surpass the lifetime collections of HSKD as well.

Not only this, the film has also emerged as the third biggest opener of this year after Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2. This is for the third time that Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan have shared the screen space and every single time the duo manages to create the same magic with their sizzling chemistry on screen.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote:

Well, it will be interesting to see if Badrinath Ki Dulhania manages to stay sturdy at the box office after the release of Anushka Sharma-Diljit Dosanjh’s much-anticipated film Phillauri and Swara Bhaskar’s Anaarkali Of Aarah.
