Fans can go to any extent to catch a glimpse of their favorite star and get a selfie with them. No matter what the actors are seen, the sole objective of a common man is to be in the same frame as their favorite star. However, things can go south in no time.
Actress Vidya Balan who will soon be seen in an absolute badass avatar in Begum Jaan recently revealed that she was manhandled by a fan at the Kolkata airport. According to several media reports, a fan who approached Vidya Balan for a selfie touched her inappropriately despite the actress asking him to behave himself.
While speaking to a daily, Vidya Balan said that the incident took place at the Kolkata airport when a man requested her for a selfie to which she obliged. However, the man went on to put his arm around her which she did not like and asked him to not do that. Things turned and ugly and her manager in a bid to take stock of the situation told the man to back off and quit touching her.
But despite repeated warnings, the man continued to put his arms around her shoulder resulting in Vidya lashing out at the man saying, “What are you doing this is wrong.” This time Vidya who was in no mood to take any sort of misbehaviour refused to pose for a selfie and walked away. “When a stranger puts an arm around you, be it a man or a woman you get uncomfortable because they are intruding into your personal space. We are public figures, not public property,” Vidya Balan told Spotboy E.
On the work front, Vidya Balan is all set to play the lead role in a National award winning director Srijit Mukherji’s Begum Jaan.
