Actress Vidya Balan, who is gearing up for the release of her next Begum Jaan, says there's a Begum Jaan in every woman

Vidya Balan, who is best known for her strong portrayal in Parineeta, Kahaani 2 and No One Killed Jessica among others is gearing up for her next Begum Jaan. In the film, she will be seen in a never before seen avatar. Begum Jaan is a Hindi adaptation of National Award-winner Srijit Mukherji’s critically-acclaimed Bengali outing Rajkahini. The film features Vidya in the role of a brothel owner in a story of survival set against the backdrop of the country’s partition in 1947. After releasing the power packed trailer of the film, the makers have now released the making video of Begum Jaan.  

In the video, the actress along with her Begum Jaan co-stars Gauhar Khan, Ridheema Tiwari, Raviza Chauhan talked about their film and Vidya’s character as Begum Jaan. Vidya spoke about how nobody but women have the right to their body, “I have the first right to my body, to what I do with it, who I shared it with. And don’t judge me. There is a Begum Jaan in every woman.”

The film is produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. Apart from Vidya, it also has Pallavi Sharda, Ridheema Tiwary, Ashish Vidyarthi, Chunky Pandey and Rajit Kapoor in pivotal roles. While the trailer of the film has been appreciated by the audience and Bollywood film fraternity people as well, it will be interesting to watch if this Vidya Balan starrer will be able to leave a mark at the Box-Office or not.

Apart from Begum Jaan, she also has a romantic comedy film Tumhari Sulu in her kitty. In the film, she will be seen essaying the role of a Radio Jockey. This is not the first time Vidya is playing this particular character on-screen, earlier she essayed the role of a RJ in Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
