Ae Dil Hai Mushkil sets new record at Box Office, becomes Karan Johar's first to reach Rs 100 cr club

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is Ranbir Kapoor's third and Anushka Sharma's fourth film to be entering the coveted Rs 100 crore club.

Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has set a new record for the director and the cast as well. The film, which got released amid a lot of controversies has become the first film of Karan Johar to have crossed Rs 100 mark at the Indian Box Office. ADHM is also Ranbir Kapoor’s third and Anushka Sharma’s fourth film in the coveted club. While Ranbir’s Barfi and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani have done the business of more than Rs 100 crore in the domestic market, Anushka Sharma has PK, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Sultan in her kitty as the Rs 100 winner.

The film is in its week 2 and is still running strong. The total collection of the film stands at Rs 102. 05 crore. The week 2 breakup is as follows:

Fri – Rs 4.56 cr
Sat – Rs 5.85 cr
Sun – Rs 6.55 cr
Mon – Rs 2.55 cr
Tue – Rs 2.35 cr
Total – Rs 102.05 cr

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and posted:

The film has also done well overseas. The worldwide collection of the film after week 2 stands at Rs 68. o7 crore. Check out this post:

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay too is inching closer to get into Rs 100 crore club. The film had collected an amount of Rs 80. 42 crore till Saturday (November 5).

Here’s the list of how the previous Karan Johar’s directorial which have fared at the Box Office (gross figures taken from Box Office India):

  • Student Of the Year: Rs 85. 22 crore
  • My Name Is Khan: Rs 99. 68 crore
  • Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna: Rs 62. 82 crore
  • Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham: Rs 92. 81 crore
  • Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Rs 80. 12 crore

It would now be interesting to see how strong ADHM will go this week. While it enjoyed a free Box Office run with no major movie releasing the last week. This week, Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Rock On 2 is making its way, followed by John Abraham-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Force 2 next week.
