Naresh Agarwal may join BJP ahead of election, reports ANI

News agency ANI, through a tweet, stated on January 23 that Naresh Agrawal is all set to join BJP today and the news has been confirmed through sources.

After the Samajwadi Party had announced the candidate list and their alliance with Congress for the upcoming state assembly polls, the senior leader of the party and Rajya Sabha Member Naresh Agarwal will be the Bhartiya Janata Paty joining today, reported ANI.

News agency ANI, through a tweet, stated on January 23 that Naresh Agrawal is all set to join BJP today and the news has been confirmed through sources.

Naresh Chandra Agrawal has been an MLA for seven terms from 1980 to 2012 (except 1985 to 1989). As an MLA, he represented the Hardoi constituency and is a member of the Samajwadi party. Till 1989, he was a member of Congress party. Agrawal is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.

On January 2o, the Samajwadi party announced the list of 191 candidates for the first three phases and Naresh Agrawal’s son Nitin Agarwal given seat from Hardoi.

On January 22, Samajwadi Party and the Congress formally announced their alliance in a press conference ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections. Congress leader Raj Babbar asserted that the party hoped the alliance will send out a positive message and that the party will work hard for the development of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

It was also announced that the Samajwadi Party will have 298 candidates, while the Congress will contest for 105 seats. Both the parties have ended the speculations that had been doing rounds for quite some times now.
