Meet 70-year-old Parbat Makwana, oldest person appearing for class 10 board exams in Gujarat

The board officials have appreciated his move and stated that he has set an example that age doesn't matter when learning is concerned

The Board exams have begun all across the country and the students who are appearing for the exams are having a very busy time preparing for the same. Meanwhile, the Gyan Bharti School in Gujrat’s Junagadh witnessed a unique student who came here to take his exam. He was not an ordinary student at all as his presence amazed many people around. The name of this student is Parbat Makwana and his age is 70 years!

Yes, a senior citizen and a father seven children is appearing for his board examinations in Junagadh under Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. As Parbat Makwana described, he passed out from schools 55-years back. But now, he is back to appear for exams once again. He stated that his 101-year-old mother inspired him in such a way that he was compelled to take exams at this age.

“Though my mother is illiterate but the knowledge she has is incomparable and it could be more than a knowledgeable person,” said Parbat Makwana.

Parbat runs a students hostel in Junagarh and also serves as the vice-president of the district Congress party. He said that he loves studying Sanskrit. He said,”I manage to spare two hours to study and do not take any coaching or tuition.”

Parbat’s presence has also fascinated the Gujrat board officials who have appreciated his move. Exam secretary BS Panchal said,”Parbat Makwana’s decision to appear for board exams sets a massive example for others that age doesn’t matter when learning is concerned. The person should be willing to take up the challenges. The youngsters who have left their studies half way could learn from him.”
