Not many in this world make it big at such an early age but Virat Kohli has proved otherwise. Currently the Indian and Royal Challengers Bangalore captian, Virat Kohli is often tauted as one of the world’s best batsmen.
Aged 28, born on 5 November 1988 and zodiacally a Scorpion, he has a decent body with 40’’ chest, 29’’ waist and 14’’ biceps. He is 5’ 9’’ tall and weighs 68 kg.
Breaking nearly every record and setting so many new in the cricket world, Virat has been playing cricket since the age of eight. It was his father that noticed his talent and passion for cricket and got him enrolled at a cricket academy in Delhi where he would practice and play at city level. Intially he played for Under-15 Delhi team and then later went on to play first class cricket for Delhi Ranji team. He then captained under-19 Indian team and fetched Indian a World Cup.
He then made his international cricket debut against Sri Lanka at the age of 19 in 2008, in which he scored his first international half century in the third match, and since then nothing has stopped Kohli from scoring runs and setting new laurels in every series. He has been accolade with Arjuna Award and Padma Shri and was adjudged ICC player of the year in 2012.
In the international cricket career spanning 9 years, he has scored 7, 755 ODI runs as on Feb 2017 in 179 matches with a whooping average of above 53. He is the only cricketer who has an average of above 50 in all formats of international cricket- ODI (53.10), Tests (51.75), and T20 (53.40). He is always in the news, not just for his immensely brilliant cricketing career, but also for his relationship with actress Anushka Sharma.
