Vasundhara Raje Scindia, popularly known among the masses as Vasundhara Raje, is an Indian politician who currently rules Rajasthan holding the CM’s office. She previously served this post for a full five-year term (2003 to 2008). Vasundhara, who is the first female to earn this high post, comes from a royal lineage of Maratha family and a family full of politicians. Her political career started in 1984, where Vasundhara became a member of National Executive of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Later, she was elected as the member of 8th Rajasthan assembly from Dholpur and then went on to become the Chief Minister of the state. Raje has received many awards including “Women Together Award” by UNO for her service in empowering the women of her state.
She has always been in news for reason or another- but most importantly for the well known Lalit Modi scandal and Aravalli hills scam.
