Perfection to the core and work to perfection, defines the 50 year old actor Aamir Khan. Born on 14 March 1965 in Mumbai, he goes deep into his characters and remains honest to the highest degree. Aamir was born to Tahir Hussain and is zodiacally a Pisces. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 70 Kg. He is currently married to Kiran Rao and was earlier spouse to Reena Dutt. He has a decent body with 42’’ chest, 30’’ waist and 14.5’’ biceps.
His childhood was mostly spent in sports as he played tennis. The first time he ever faced a camera was for a short film which was shot by his friend. This deeply affected him which led him to join theatre and started acting on-stage. After spending a few years there, he started assisting his father in direction and finally made his first screen appearance as lead in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
His next release Raakh was not a box-office success but was critically appreciated and got Aamir his first National Film Award. His most successful and acclaimed roles in the 1990s have been in Dil, Raja Hindustani, Earth. He changed the game of Bollywood in early 2000s with two of his films- Dil Chahta Hai (in which he acted) and Lagaan (which he produced and acted in). Lagaan is India’s third only nominated movie in the Best Foreign Language category in the Oscars.
After a hiatus of four years, he starred in Managal Pandey which was a box-office failure. But then, Fanaa (in which he played a terrorist) and Rang De Basanti (2006). 2007 saw Taare Zameen Par which was both a critical and commercial failure about a dyslexic child. Post this, many of his films have been top grosser films of all time in Bollywood namely- Ghajini (remake of Memento), 3 Idiots (directed by Raj Kumar Hirani), Dhoom 3 (third installment in Dhoom film franchise), and the most recent Dangal (wrestling movie based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat).
He hates loud music and loves going deep into his film characters. He has an amazing collection of cars and bikes that includes Mercedes Benz S600, Rolls Royce Ghost Phantom. He loves eating roasted chicken and his favorite actors are Leonardo Dicaprio, Daniel Dey Lewis and Waheeda Rehman. Stars are always surrounded by controversies. Aamir once called Shahrukh Khan a dog stating that he has named his dog Shahrukh. Later he apologized to Shahrukh personally. This incident garnered huge media attention. He and his wife Kiran said in an interview that Indians are becoming intolerant and they would wish to leave the country. This statement created a fuss and buzz around the country and he was termed ‘traitor’.
